Adopt a Jack Russell Terrier / Mixed (short coat)

Jack Russell Terrier / Mixed (short coat) Dog

America's Sweetheart the Dog needs a home

NAME: America's Sweetheart

AGE/GENDER: Young Adult (born 11/24/15), Female

BREED: Jack Russell Terrier/Rat Terrier Mix?

TEMPERAMENT: Playful and mischievous

WEIGHT: ~10lbs

HOUSE TRAINING: Sweetheart is great at using potty pads! She is pretty consistent with potty pads; outside, not so much.

CRATE TRAINING: Good! She eats and sleeps in her crate.

OTHER DOGS: Good! Sweetheart has no idea she is a tiny pup and so needs supervision, as she does best with big dogs and is overwhelming for pups her size and smaller.

CATS: Good! She is fostered with cats.

CHILDREN: Dog-respectful children, 12 and older

ADOPTION DONATION: $375

HEALTH: America's Sweetheart is very happy and healthy, but suffers from a congenital neurological condition that causes instability and lack of depth perception. Otherwise she is a typical silly, playful girl! She also suffers from microvascular liver shunts, meaning that her liver doesn't filter out the toxins in the blood as well, so she will require lifelong supplements (Denamarin) as well as a low-protein diet consisting of a prescription liver/hepatic food and low-protein or veggies and fruits as snacks/treats. Sweetheart is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, flea treated, and dewormed. Your adoption donation goes toward the cost of this vet care as well as transportation and general care costs. In addition, all pets adopted from Motley Zoo come with 30 days of free pet insurance provided by Shelter Care.

HISTORY: Motley Zoo Animal Rescue was asked to find her a great forever family and that is exactly what we plan to do!

NOTES FROM THE FOSTER HOME:

Meet America’s Sweetheart, a Terrier/Jack Russel Mix ready take on the world with a lot of pep and little human help.

America's Sweetheart is healthy and active, but was born several conditions that require human support to help her lead the super-pup life she loves.  She has a neurological condition that causes a slight bobble and a liver condition that will require lifelong supplements (Denamarin) and a specialized diet.

America’s Sweetheart will require a home ready to provide a bit more supervision than the average pup her age, a prescribed diet, and guidance when other dogs are done playing.  If your life is due for a dose of spunk, and you’re ready to help this little girl take on the world, then she’s ready to take over your heart. Contact us to learn more about America’s Sweetheart.

All dogs adopted from Motley Zoo come with a leash and either a Martingale collar or a harness, depending on each dog's particular needs.

Welcome to Motley Zoo Animal Rescue. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization that is run entirely by volunteers. Motley Zoo does not have a brick and mortar shelter location. Instead, all our rescue animals are cared for in private foster homes where the animals receive one-on-one care and attention in a home environment until permanent placement is found. Please email  [email protected]  and request an adoption application and we will work toward approving you as an adopter with our rescue so that we can set a time for you to meet!
